1/2 Day Pre-Season Conditioning Camp
Monday - Thursday - last week in August
Location: Komoka Wellness Centre
Capacity: 30 campers per session + 2 goalies
Age Groups:
AM Session: Ages 8 – 12
PM Session: Ages 10 – 14
Daily Schedule
Morning Session:
9:00 – 10:30 am: Off-ice training
10:30 – 11:00 am: Classroom lesson
11:15 – 12:15 pm: On-ice training
Afternoon Session:
12:45 – 2:15 pm: Off-ice training
2:15 – 2:45 pm: Classroom lesson
3:15 – 4:15 pm: On-ice training
Skill Requirements:
Campers should have the basic hockey skills necessary to participate in drills involving skating, passing, and shooting.
½ Day 1-Week Pre-Season Camp – Highlights
4 hours of on-ice hockey instruction
Focus on key skills including skating (quick starts, transitions, maintaining speed), position-specific skills, passing, puck control, shooting, puck protection, and on-ice communication
Small group skill stations followed by fun, challenging drills that incorporate game situations
6 hours of off-ice conditioning
Develop fitness components key to hockey: agility, speed, strength, coordination, balance, and power
Off-ice drills also include stickhandling and shooting
Players use equipment and methods they can continue at home to maintain conditioning
1 hour of athlete-focused, hockey-based classroom instruction
Help players manage stress, improve performance, and prepare for tryouts
Topics include:
Tips for impressing coaches and evaluators
Coping with stress and anxiety
Nutrition and hydration for athletic performance
Communication: “Talk While You Play”
Importance of leadership, teamwork, and personal character
Hockey fundamentals: keeping it simple
Time management: balancing school, family, personal health, and hockey
Experienced instructors
Over 30 years of combined experience teaching and coaching young athletes
Extensive experience with tryouts, on-ice drills, and player evaluations at multiple levels
Positive role models who create a safe, fun environment that fosters skill development, confidence, and a lifelong love of sport

Family Discount: Register two or more family members and save TBA per child

A non-refundable deposit (TBA minimum) is required upon registration to hold your spot
Remaining balance is due May 1, 2026
Spots are not held without payment (deposit or full payment)
No refunds will be issued unless your spot can be filled by another camper
Any refund issued is subject to a $5 administration fee
