Junior Leader Program

Camp participants have the opportunity to apply to become a Junior Leader after graduation from our camps (grade 8-9 transition summer). Selected leaders will work at camp alongside our camp instructors and have the opportunity to complete the 40 hours of community service required for their OSSD. This program provides an opportunity to practice and develop leadership skills such as: 

• Effective communication and collaboration

• Positive conflict resolution 

• How to effectively mentor younger kids through positive encouragement and engagement in activity 

• Organization of group into teams, give game instructions and help supervise a game

Graduating SSA campers will be contacted each year to apply to the Junior Leader Program
